Retail Finance Intern

Job Overview:  

We are looking for a motivated Finance Intern to support the Finance team in providing accurate, data-driven insights into the company’s financial performance. This role offers hands-on exposure to financial analysis, reporting, and operational finance activities, allowing the intern to gain practical experience in a dynamic business environment.

 

Your work life:

Financial Reporting Support

  • Assist in analyzing historical financial data and performing variance analysis to identify trends and potential concerns.
  • Support cost review exercises by helping identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
  • Assist in tracking and updating monthly product cost allocations.
  • Help prepare basic balance sheet, cost, and expense reconciliations.
  • Maintain financial data and reports, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
  • Provide administrative and analytical support to the Financial Reporting & Taxation team for ad-hoc assignments and projects.

Credit Management & Collections Support

  • Assist in reviewing customer credit profiles for B2C segments under supervision.
  • Support monitoring of collection performance metrics such as DSO, ageing analysis, and bad debt movements.
  • Help identify delinquency trends and escalate potential risks to the team.
  • Assist in preparing dashboards, reports, and simple visual presentations for internal stakeholders.

Business Reporting & Revenue Assurance

  • Support the identification and investigation of potential revenue leakage or billing discrepancies.
  • Assist in validating data completeness, accuracy, and consistency across reports.
  • Help monitor customer invoices and usage to ensure alignment with contractual terms.
  • Support the implementation of basic controls to improve revenue assurance and operational efficiency.
  • Prepare routine reports and assist in compiling performance KPIs for management review.

 

To be considered, you’ll need: 

  • Academic Background: Degree in Accounting/ Finance.
  • Skills & Competencies: 
    • Proficient in using Microsoft Excel (e.g. lookup function, pivot). 
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Eager to learn and contribute in a fast-paced environment.
  • Preferred Attributes: 
    • Curious mindset with attention to detail.
    • Comfortable working across teams and multitasking.
