GPON (Gigabit Ethernet passive optical network) Field Engineer
Job Description:
The Field Engineer will provide preventive and corrective maintenance to take care of fiber optic GPON Splitters, cable, and its associated facilities to assuring the network meets the agreed performance standard and customer needs. And he will participate in the entire activation and assurance process in meeting the schedule and commitments.
Your work life:
- Responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and identifying solutions to resolve outages or faults escalation from the internal team.
- Following standard procedures for proper escalation of unresolved issues to the appropriate internal teams
- Resolve malfunctions or other crises when they arise and oversee repairs and technical improvements.
- Perform corrective maintenance when required and ensure the restoration works to the satisfaction of TIME dotCom customers.
- Perform checking/audit of the preventive maintenance works by the SI as and when necessary to ensure proper maintenance of onsite equipment.
- On-site acceptance test for infrastructure built and acceptance handover activities from interested parties.
- Ensuring all MWO works done by the contractor to the quality and standard required by the work order.
- Maintain the condition of all the tools, spares, and vehicles that are being assigned.
- Ensuring the superior is informed of all activities related to the platform area.
- Maintain company reputation when dealing with external parties as well as when working at the site.
- Adherence to the company process, procedures, and policies for all activities.
- Ensure occupational health and safety requirements are adhered to.
- Require to stand by for GPON Outages 24X7.
- Prioritize and manage several open issues at one time.
- Attend to all ad-hoc tasks assigned by the superior/ management team and support another platform group as and when necessary.
To be considered, you'll need:
- Bachelor's Degree, Diploma, or Certificate in Electrical/Electronic/Communication Engineering.
- Minimum 2 years experience and knowledge in telecommunications and fiber optic maintenance.
- The ability to perform fiber splicing would be an added advantage.
- Positive and energetic attitude.
