Field Engineer

Description: 

The position reports to the Team Leader (OSP/CAN)

 

Job Overview: 

Responsible to manage and execute region assurance, activation and project related works with reporting/tracking management.

 

Your work life: 

  • Responsible for the quality-of-service assurance (fault attending & meeting preventive maintenance schedule)
  • Responsible for the quality-of-service activation (meeting CRD and installation specifications)
  • Manage and supervise contractor works in order to ensure quality work and delivery.
  • Perform documentation works via DWMS system (MWO, CWO, PR, MIRF, eMP, Supplier Portal etc.)
  • Responsible for Preventive and Corrective Maintenance for facility equipment (Power, Air-Conditioner, Standby Generator, SMR, Battery), equipment powers up and rectify the defect from PM Portal within specific period of time.
  • Maintain the accuracy of site records, i.e., fiber network database and condition of all assigned tools and test gears.
  • Provide regular status update to immediate superior on all activities and adhere with occupational safety & health requirements.

 

To be considered, you’ll need:

  • Minimum diploma in Electronic / Electrical Engineering or its equivalents with at least 1 year experience in the fiber optic telecommunication industry
  • Knowledge in DWDM and access equipment with at least 1 to 3 years hand on operations experience. Good knowledge and troubleshooting skills in facility equipment such power, air-Conditioner, Standby Generator etc with hand on work experience is advantage.
  • Willing to work on standby and frequent outstation.
  • Have good communication and interpersonal skills: high integrity, self-discipline, positive attitude, analytical thinking, problem solving skill and able to work with minimum supervision. Has ability to remain composed and professional in stressful in high pressure situation.
