Senior Security Operation Analyst
Job Overview:
We are looking for a Senior Security Operation Analyst with strong firewall engineering experience to support firewall operations, configuration, deployment, migration, troubleshooting, and security policy management within TIME dotCom.
The candidate must have a strong background in network security, firewall administration, TCP/IP networking, routing, NAT, VPN, incident handling, change management, and project deployment. This role requires hands-on technical capability, good communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with internal teams, customers, vendors, and service providers.
The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that firewall and network security services are properly configured, maintained, monitored, and continuously improved to meet operational, security, and business requirements.
Your work life:
You will be responsible for the operation, configuration, deployment, and support of firewall and network security solutions across the organization. Key responsibilities include:
- Perform firewall configuration, policy creation, rule review, NAT configuration, VPN setup, routing updates, and security hardening.
- Support firewall deployment, migration, upgrade, refresh, and integration activities.
- Manage firewall changes in accordance with change management processes, including impact assessment, implementation planning, rollback planning, and post-change validation.
- Troubleshoot firewall-related issues including connectivity problems, routing issues, NAT conflicts, VPN failures, application access issues, and performance degradation.
- Support incident investigation and escalation related to firewall, perimeter security, VPN, WAF, DDoS, and other network security controls.
- Review firewall rules and security policies to ensure they are aligned with business requirements, security standards, and compliance expectations.
- Conduct firewall rule cleanup, policy optimization, object review, and access control validation.
- Perform firewall capacity planning, including bandwidth, session utilization, CPU/memory usage, license consumption, HA status, and redundancy readiness.
- Support firewall high availability, disaster recovery, backup, restore, and configuration baseline activities.
- Work with internal teams, customers, vendors, and service providers during incident handling, project implementation, and technical troubleshooting.
- Prepare technical documentation such as firewall design, configuration guides, change plans, migration plans, network diagrams, operational runbooks, and RCA reports.
- Participate in security reviews, audits, and compliance activities related to firewall and network security controls.
- Support security roadmap planning involving firewall, WAF, DDoS, VPN, PAM, SIEM, and other cybersecurity technologies.
- Provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to junior analysts or engineers when required.
- Maintain good governance and enforcement based on existing security policies, standards, and compliance requirements.
- Handle multiple operational issues, projects, and change requests in a fast-paced environment.
To be considered, you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Electronics, Network Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 5 to 6 years of hands-on experience in network security, firewall operations, firewall deployment, network operations, or cybersecurity operations.
- Strong hands-on experience with Next-Generation Firewall configuration and operations.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLAN, IP addressing, subnetting, NAT, VPN, DNS, SSL/TLS, and network security architecture.
- Ability to demonstrate advanced knowledge of:
- Firewall policy management
- Source NAT and destination NAT
- Static and dynamic routing
- Site-to-site VPN
- Remote access VPN
- High availability firewall design
- Security zones and segmentation
- Application control and threat prevention
- Firewall logging and troubleshooting
- Experience with Fortinet FortiGate is highly preferred.
- Experience with Palo Alto Networks firewall will be an added advantage.
- Experience with Fortinet Security Fabric such as FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiEMS, FortiMail, and FortiWAF will be a strong advantage.
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with security technologies such as WAF, DDoS protection, SIEM, PAM, VPN, endpoint security, and related cybersecurity platforms.
- Experience in firewall migration, rulebase review, policy cleanup, firmware upgrade, patch management, and firewall lifecycle management.
- Ability to identify firewall misconfiguration, security gaps, access control weaknesses, and network exposure risks.
- Good understanding of cybersecurity risks associated with enterprise networks, internet-facing services, cloud connectivity, remote access, and third-party/vendor access.
- Familiarity with security frameworks, audit requirements, risk assessments, and compliance standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, and GDPR will be an added advantage.
- Relevant certifications such as Fortinet NSE, Palo Alto PCNSA/PCNSE, CCNP Security, CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or other network/security certifications will be an added advantage.
Required Skills and Competencies
The candidate should have strong technical and operational capability in firewall engineering, including:
- Firewall configuration, deployment, migration, and troubleshooting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for fault isolation, root cause analysis, and incident resolution.
- Ability to assess risk, identify security threats, and recommend practical remediation.
- Good understanding of change management, incident management, problem management, and project implementation.
- Ability to prepare clear technical documentation, reports, diagrams, and presentation materials.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical matters to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to engage professionally with senior management, customers, vendors, and internal support teams.
- Ability to work under pressure, especially during incidents, urgent changes, outages, and high-demand situations.
- Ability to manage multiple issues or projects simultaneously with proper prioritization and attention to detail.
- Self-motivated, independent, responsible, and able to work effectively in a team environment.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic operational environment.
