OSP Field Engineer
Position reports to: OSP LEAD CRO ZONE 1
Job Overview:
The Field Engineer is responsible for supporting the operation, maintenance, and deployment of Outside Plant (OSP) network infrastructure. This role ensures network reliability and service quality through fiber optic installation, testing, troubleshooting, contractor supervision, and compliance with company standards and safety requirements.
Your Work Life:
- Perform fiber splicing, testing, fault localization, troubleshooting, and restoration activities to meet service quality and MTTR targets.
- Conduct site surveys, inspections, and support OSP network design, route reviews, and project planning activities.
- Supervise and coordinate contractors, utility providers, and stakeholders to ensure safe, quality, and timely project execution.
- Monitor OSP construction, installation, testing, acceptance, and maintenance works in compliance with company and industry standards.
- Maintain accurate network records, documentation, databases, and reporting through designated systems and platforms.
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, quality, and regulatory requirements while supporting continuous improvement initiatives and operational efficiency.
To be considered, you’ll need:
- Possess at least a Certificate in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related field).
- Have knowledge of fiber optic cabling, troubleshooting, and network operations, with 1–3 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Be willing to work on standby and outside normal working hours when required.
- Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to perform well under pressure.
- Be proficient in Bahasa Malaysia and English, with good verbal and written communication skills.
